JUNE MOLEBEN FOR LIFE – Wednesday, June 24th at St. John the Forerunner

So, we are having our monthly moleben for life this month on Wednesday the 24th, 6 pm at St. John the Forerunner for a change.  Thank you, Fr. Zachariah for hosting this time.  We hope and pray that other parishes in the area who have not hosted would follow suit.

On a different note, it is exciting to find out that abortion rate in the US has dropped to 12 percent since 2010 according to a survey.  Thanks to Pro-Life laws and ministries that help to protect and educate women about their choices.  Let us persevere in our prayerful efforts to uphold the sanctity of life.

U.S. Abortion Rate Drops 12 Percent

June 10, 2015

A new survey from the Associate Press claims that the national abortion rate has dropped 12 percent since 2010. Life News reports the pro-life laws that have been passed in recent years likely caused the drop in abortion procedures.According to the report, the abortions rate has dropped in all 43 of 45 reporting states. Michigan and Louisiana were the two states that reported abortion increases.

Several states saw the abortion rate decrease over 20 percent. The states that recently passed aggressive pro-life laws saw the largest drops, including Indiana, Missouri, Ohio and Oklahoma.

Pro-life laws regarding the health and safety of women led to the closure of about 70 abortion clinics in 12 states since 2010. The survey indicated that clinic closures were partly to credit with the national pro-life progress.

Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue said, “The Associated Press report is great news. It proves that Americans are rejecting abortions in favor of life in unprecedented numbers. There’s no doubt that we are winning and the abortion cartel is waning.”

May Moleben on Friday, the 22nd at Joy of All Who Sorrow

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Christ is Risen!

The battle for the sanctity of life is getting more intense but our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has already overcome the world.  On May 13, 2015, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, a measure that will prohibit abortions after five months (20 weeks) of pregnancy (http://www.irtl.org/2015/05/u-s-house-limits-late-term-abortions/).  This may seem small but it is still life saving

This is why we need to keep pressing and PRAYING that Christ’s victory be upon us as we uphold the sanctity of life in the womb.  Let us pray that this Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act be passed into law by the Senate and the President.

Would you come this Friday and pray with us the Moleben for Life?  We hope to see you at 6 o’clock in the evening at Joy of All Who Sorrow. The main door will be open at 5:50 pm.

Pressing on…

Christ is Risen!

We had a very blessed time of praying the Akathist to the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ with Fr. David and members of the hosting parish.  Thank you so much to all who prayed with us.   It is our hope that more Christians would join us in this cause.  May God continue to grant us strength, power and perseverance in upholding the sanctity of Life.

40 DAYS FOR LIFE Prayer Vigil

image

The spring campaign kicked off on Februrary 18 and will end on March 29.  OCLife Indy has signed up to pray for the 7 Saturdays at 9 am (starting tomorrow) at the Planned Parenthood clinic on 86th and Georgetown Rd.

We hope that you could offer an hour of your time to pray there with other Pro-Lifers as an “almsgiving” during Great Lent for the sake of the sanctity of life.

“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?

When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?

Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?

And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

Matthew 25:37-40

February 22nd Moleben at Joy of All Who Sorrow

In two weeks, Great Lent is here!  Our 26th Moleben for the Unborn is going to be held at our parish, the Joy of All Who Sorrow on 16th and North Delaware Sts. on Forgiveness Sunday, Feb. 22nd after coffee hour, around 12:30 pm.

What a way to start Great Lent, a much needed time and deeper focus on repentance individually and as a Church.  May we all offer our prayers of repentance unto the Lord, on behalf of those who have committed violent acts against human life.  May we faithfully continue to strive to uphold the sanctity of God’s gift of Life.

“Open to Me the Door of Repentance,                                  O Giver of Life!

“Repentance is the renewal of baptism and is a contract with God for a fresh start in life. Repentance goes shopping for humility and is ever distrustful of bodily comfort. Repentance is critical awareness and a sure watch over oneself. Repentance is the daughter of hope and the refusal of despair. The penitent stands guilty – but undisgraced. Repentance is reconciliation with the Lord by the performance of good deeds which are the opposites of the sins. It is the purification of conscience and the voluntary endurance of affliction.”

(St. John Climacus, The Ladder of Divine Ascent, Step 5)

A great turn out today…

Today, January 22, 2015 marks the 42nd anniversary of              Roe v Wade legalization and tragedy of abortion in the US,        with over 56 million innocent lives destroyed.  We will press on, repenting and pleading for God’s mercy and forgiveness for an end to this tragedy.

We had a great turn out at our “get to know OCLife Indianapolis” event this evening, glory be to God!  It was a wonderful time of fellowship and sharing of information on this issue.  We want to thank everyone who came and assisted in any way, brought food, cooked, washed dishes, cleaned up, but most of all, PRAYED with us the Akathist to the Mother of God.

To date, OCLife Indy has coordinated 25 Moliebens for the unborn and the victims of abortion at three parishes namely Sts. Constantine and Elena, St. John The Forerunner and Joy of All Who Sorrow.

May the Lord continue to guide and bless us as we uphold the sanctity of life.
